The Pollen, my friends, is blowing in the wind

The Pollen is blowing in the wind!

This is my Greyhound

She made pollen angels today on the deck!

See it? Her rump was on the left, her head on the right. You can even see the outline of her mouth!

I need to sweep tomorrow.

Addition Complete!

Porch Constructed? Check

Painted and Stained? Check

New Gutter to help get rid of swamp in back yard? Check

Cleaned up work site? Crap.

Okay, so chairs and planters are there because we wanted to keep Callay off of the porch while it dried. I guess I should go move them now. I'll post a new picture with an AM shot, when the sun is better for good exposure.

Perfectly Sized Slippers!

Here's the after shot! Boy, are they warm! I guess that's what happens when you use 2 strands of worsted weight wool and then felt it. I love the way the colors turned out from the Kool-Aid yarn. I may do even more experimenting on these and do some needle felting onto them. That could be neat. Maybe a Kool-Aid man on the toe!

Rediculously Huge Slippers!

Here they are pre-felting. I will be felting them this afternoon and will post after shots!

Almost there!

Here's Friday's picture and Saturday Morning. Doesn't look like the guys did a ton of work, but that's because most of the work was wiring and boxing in the bay window. They put the fan support in the wrong place, but I guess they'll have to fix that today or Monday.

Oh, and Callay, the greyhound, slipped out while they were loading their trucks up to leave. She pushed past the barrier and was off. Luckily she stopped to try and tangle with a cat, and the distraction allowed the guys to catch her again. They're very lucky and I had a long conversation with them again about how fast greyhounds are and how they should just use the dog door plate like I"d said. grrr. I"ll have a talk with the main guy about it when he comes today to fix the fan.

Felted Slipper and Kool-Aid!

So the Kool-Aid dyed yarn has become a very pretty center-pull ball, and is in the process of becoming slippers!

I will continue to post as I make progress, but I had to show off the really neat center-pull ball I made! I rolled it, nostepinne-style on a toilet paper tube.

My friend Ana said it looked like a yummy little apple. I have to agree!

Addition!

This is the start to an addition we are putting on our house. There used to be a small porch, and we are enlarging it and putting a shed roof over it. Here it is partially finished.

Happy Birthday, SIL!

This is a cute little trivet I made for my SIL for her birthday. It's made from scraps of the coat I made her for Christmas a few years ago.

Yarn Pr0n!

I think this is what the Kool-Aid man meant when he said "Oh Yeah!"

This is the remaining yarn from Fuzzy Feet. I think I'm going to make my own pair, but I didn't want just white. So, I searched through the closet, found some lemon and lemon-lime Kool Aid, and voila! I can't wait to see how this comes out.

Look at it, lounging on the chair, saying "Hey, bebe. You know you want to knit me."

Okay, that's enough personifying yarn for one day.

Pile 'O Corn

Very productive day today, I got 8 of the corn bags done that are for the Farmer's Market. I think I"ll stop here, make a few other handmade things to sell and see how they do.

Yay Corn!

So over Christmas I had a horrible kink in my neck. Dad had a pillow that my aunt had made that was filled with corn. Nuke it, and you have instant moist heat. I loved it so much I made some, and my friend Ana will be selling the extras at the Farmer's market this Spring. Hopefully after this next weekend I'll have a whole pile of them to take a picture of!
